Calasparra white paella rice, catering bag, D.O.P

This paella rice is from Calasparra in the province of Murcia, southeast Spain and is the first rice in the world to be awarded a DOP. It is grown at high altitudes by cooperatives, on ancient terraces built by the Moors, and is irrigated by the clean, cold water of the river delta. No chemicals are used during production. It is a short, round grain rice: the starch structure gives a much moister, stickier consistency than long grain varieties. It has high absorbency, increasing in both length and width by around 70%, so is well suited to dishes where it can take in the flavours of the other ingredients.- 1kg priced by unit/case (20 units per case)ref: LE01708
