Weekend special: ¡Calçotada!

The Calçotada is celebrated across Catalunya from late winter to early spring, with weekend parties dedicated to cooking and eating Calçots, a member of the onion family. Calçots are usually barbecued, then dipped in a Salvitxada or Romesco sauce, made with toasted almonds, grilled tomatoes, ñora peppers, garlic, vinegar, olive oil and bread. Dip the sweet, charred calçot in the warm spicy sauce, tip your head back and try to eat in one: it can be messy! Wash down with Cava or red wine.

Enjoy them at Casa Brindisa and Tapas Brindisa Soho.

New on our menu...

Basque Txuletón

This is the famous large rib-eye steak from northern Spain. It comes from 12 year old traditional working animals, selected from the Galician hills for elegant flavour.

Tender lean meat with buttery fat are equal protagonists on the bone!

Check our blog to find out more about this beef.

Also new at Tapas Soho is our Platos Regionales specials menu, offering a selection of typical dishes from the different regions in Spain. Our menu also offers for the first time in Britain a hand made Coca bread, the Catalan flatbread that is ideal for a true Pan con tomate.

Our Platos regionales include:

  • Bacalao and alioli gratin - Salt cod supreme and fried garlic
  • Chuletillas de cordero - Lamb cutlets with alioli and herb salad
  • Pulpo a la gallega - Galician style octopus with potatoes and pimentón
  • Escalivada - Roasted aubergine, onion, tomato and red pepper served with coca bread
  • Chorizo barbacoa - Served with a red wine reduction
  • Catalan spinach - Lightly wilted wine pine nuts and raisins
