Retail Manager, Borough Market.
Brindisa has been specialising in the selection and sales of some of the best food from Spain for over 20 years. One of the first retailers at Borough Market, we aim to create a unique experience for our customers to shop, and our team to work in. We are currently looking for a full time, 40 hours per week experienced Retail Manager able to manage and motivate a team of 20 dedicated foodies.
The ideal candidate must have:
- Previous Retail Management experience.
- Knowledge and enthusiasm or a strong interest in food origins, ingredients and cuisine.
- The ability to work in an outdoor environment.
- Good written English and verbal communication skills.
- A strong work ethic with excellent self motivation.
Key aspects of the job will be:
- To set, improve, and uphold standards of food quality and hygiene, merchandising, and customer service.
- To ensure the accurate and efficient processing of administrative duties.
- To contribute ideas, systems and operations that will help achieve sales targets and maximum profitability.
- To ensure that food hygiene and Health and Safety policies and standards are promoted and upheld, making Brindisa Borough Market a safe place to work and shop.
Desirables:
- Knowledge of Spain and/or Spanish food.
- Strong merchandising/marketing abilities.

Full time Purchasing Office Intern, Balham Warehouse
We believe work experience is a fantastic way for students to experience the world of work and offer this position as a paid 6 months internship opportunity. We are looking for an intern who is bilingual, hands-on and able to offer administrative support to the various functions of stock, buying, marketing and technical within the department.
Key responsibilities:
- Invoice checking & order placements
- New products, samples and tasting controls.
- Database admin.
- Website maintenance.
- General Office duties i.e. switchboard, filing, faxing, photocopying etc
This is a varied and challenging role and will suit a student at university or graduate keen to enter our sector, gain first hand insight and experience into the world of Spanish foods.
Applicants must have:
- Good communication skills both in English and Spanish .
- Administrative & excel skills.
- Good numerical & accuracy skills.
- Clear telephone manner.
