Tapas Brindisa

Spanish Tapas, London Bridge

Our regular customers love the night-time bustle but they tell us that, most of all, it’s the great Tapas and fine Spanish wines that keep bringing them back again and again.

Have a snack of juicy Gordal olives or Marcona almonds from our Picoteo menu with a drink at our busy, informal bar. Or sample a plate of regional Charcutería in the window seats as you watch market life go by.

As well as all our classic Tapas dishes, our Cocina de Mercado is inspired by the fresh produce on our doorstep at Borough Market. Tuck into pan-fried sardines with tomato Pipirrana; traditional black rice with squid; or our Pisto of summer vegetables and duck egg. Hand-carved ham is also available to take away from our Jamonería counter.

This is what Felicity Cloake, award winning food writer, says about our restaurant:

"Borough Market´s Iberian specialists Brindisa have long had a very good, and busy tapas bar in Southwark Street" - April 2012

The Intolerant Foodie writes in November 2011:

"I love to see how a place works. Are the waitstaff efficient, knowledgeable, good-humored? Do they care about their customers? When I got my first waitress job in a Long Island coffee shop, my Dad said "treat people the way you want to be treated yourself". That seems to be the modus operandi at Brindisa too. It’s part of the reason we keep going back"

The Foodie Bugle writes in July 2011:

"The bread is very good: a thick, earthy crust hides a soft, airy middle that tastes like the loaves of old. The ham is nutty, buttery and fragrant. The green salad is herby, dotted with chervil, mint and rocket, anointed with a moscatel vinaigrette. The saltiness of the cheese and anchovies is foiled by the sweet softness of the red peppers. Small but perfectly formed.

These are the very best ingredients imaginable, sliced so finely and straight, prepared so simply, placed so daintily, right in the centre of plain white plates. They even run ham slicing courses, it’s all perfected to a fine art."

Gwyneth Paltrow writes in her blog "Goop" on 28th April 2011:

"I stopped here on my way to an event once and have become a fan ever since. In fact, this is quickly becoming one of my favorite places in London. This is an authentic tapas place made up of great food and all the requisite hustle and bustle of a good Spanish joint."
